is sending money via 'moneygram' safe?

Question

i sent money to malaysia from canada using MoneyGram service and the agent employee told me that there is an agent in the city where i am sending the money for the receiver to receive the money. the next day, the receiver told me the agent won't give her the money since the agent only doing sending service but not receive service. I contacted the agent but they're no very helpful.I am a tourist in canada and i don't know what to do. I'm gonna get refund which will takes 30days for the moneygram to process..is there any other agent whose better in sending money internationally?

the nearest agent closest to the receiver will be 700km away and it doesn't provide receive service either..so the receiver either fly for 3 hours to the other city (and spent all the money for the return flight) or i ask for refund..thank you for all your helps..i appreciate it

first of all. western union is grt, but as far as ur problem goes moneyogram is safe too but it has its disadvantages now ask ur friend to find any other location in her place cos they normally hav lot of them.and ur refunding will not take that much of a time cos i hav faced the same problem but recived the refund with in matter of hours.

I use MoneyGram all the time as does my husband and we have never had a problem. It's much cheaper than Western Union, just not as well known.

Try Western Union. They have many ways to send and receive money including Direct Deposit into your bank account! If you can get online check out their website: http://www.westernunion.com for more info

I would suggest Western Union. Please be advised however that only send money to people you know - don't pay for auctions items, etc with this type of money because you have no protection.
