Hard to say without knowing some history, but I would guess it has something to do with taking risks.
Did you play with dogs in the house as a child? Did something happen regarding playing with dogs in the house?
On just the surfice, I would guess she is saying something along the lines of, " Don't do risky things that could come back to your home life." Like letting some bad people into your close circle of friends.

What were here first dying words?

That might give you a clue.

As for me, it sounds like she didn't want you to disrespect the house by doing anything wrong in it.

By the way, do you even have dogs? or anything that sounds like dogs?

My mother's last words to me were "Just let me sleep, I'll be fine." When you think about it , it is quite profound.

Perhaps you shouldn't think about it.

i am so sorry for your loss :( ...

i thought about this, and the best i could come up with was that there may be some ppl in your house who are not nice, and who she is referring to as dogs? she probably wants you to be a good man, just like any mom would, and does not want you to be in bad company ... :)

take care and God bless

Well, it makes me wonder if maybe it has something to do with who you were dating or maybe engaged or married to at the time...?

I'm soooo sorry for your loss.

Hope someone can help you cuz my answer probably isn't the right one.....but I have thought on this and that was all I could come up with.

First: why do you use dog´s with an aposthopher (or so)...? Second, how old are you? Shouldn´t you write "dogs" for plural? In other hand, maybe dogs equals men, so mabye she is awaring to not to get men in your home to have sex...

It's only an expression... Your mother wanted to say "be calm, wise and safe".
