I mean stegasaurouses were supposed to be extinct, and so were Brachiosaurs and Triceratops....

The temple is in Cambodia.
By prehistoric, I mean from before humans were supposed to exist.
No one quibbles with the theory that dinosaurs would have been known as dragons 2oo years ago, however, not all dragons in history are dinosaurs. Nor would the depiction of a stegasaurus be satisfactory when taken just from bone fragments and fossil fragments.

Is it too much to believe that either dinos did not go extinct when scientists have proposed they did (especially since the allegator and crocodile are supposed to be living dinos) or that man lived with the dinosaurs ...?

Well I didn't live back then so I can't answer your question properly, however I can state the obvious. Either...

1) these creatures were not exinct
2) the temple is in fact older than 2000 years
3) something remained of the creature so that an early artist could draw it, like fossils or someone else's pictoral or verbal account of it
4) it is a hoax, created by someone a little more recent attempting to upbeat their find and make them a little more credible in the scientific community. It has been known to happen before.

If you are meaning that CARVINGS of prehistoric animals were found on a 2000 year old temple, then the explanation should be fairly simple: fossils were uncovered around the world even back then. Many scientists believe that those fossil discoveries were the inspiration for mythological creatures such as dragons, griffins, etc. If the carvings were accurate, then maybe, the fossil was complete enough to make an accurate depiction.

A little truth. The word "Dinasour" didn't exist until failry recently. Before, the word for them was "dragons" and if you look up dragon in an older dictionary....like from the late 1800's, it will state "rarely" seen but still existing animal. Dig this, Evolution, is the biggest lie, next to the devil making people think he really don't exist.
