When a club buy a player that money goes to his ex-club.

As for the player when his new to be team negotiate his contract he can ask for a certain salary and a signing on fee, which will go to his own pocket ( And some of it to his agent )

The payment for the player goes towards breaking the contract one player is under for their current club so that they can sign another contract at another club.

It's like a boy at an ice-cream. There are loads of ice-creams to be bought. If you want one, you pay the van manager to get the ice-cream. So the payment goes to the player's former club's manager.

Teams exchange players for money, the players sign contracts with the new Team and they receive payments from the new Team (and sponsors), but that has nothing to do with the transaction from the transfer.
