I wish I could get a quarter so I could buy bling from the bubble gum machine outside walmart too! I want to fit in too, pick me! I'm too poor to afford a belt and I have to use my dad's HUGE jeans as hand-me-downs. My head is weird shaped cas my parents dropped me on it when I was a baby and now all my hats just fit crooked.

Because they are all "individuals". It's hard for people to think on their own anymore so of course they follow trends set by people who should have been arrested by the fashion police decades ago. It's a silly fad that will disappear in a few years. Remember Criss Cross, with the backward clothes? I think it finally dawned on people that they looked ridiculous and they stopped. Hopefully they will see the light soon with this trend.

Just a another fad. Sorry to say, this is the same question that your kids will ask one day. There aren't really any new styles in fashion, there are only the "old" becoming the "new" again. Like all of the ones in history; this too will pass.
