I have a 95' ford escort and it only has 93,000 miles on it. When i first got the car it ran great but then one day me and my husband took it to Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed and we left and on our way home the check engine light came on. We pulled over and turned the car off and then it wouldn't start back, finally it did and we have been having so much trouble out of now. If we go somewhere it dies almost everytime. First the radio will go off and then it will start running really rough and the turn signals won't even come on the if we stop it just dies. When you try to start it back when you turn the key over it doesn't do anything sometimes it makes a clicking noise. I don't know what is wrong with it but we took it to auto zone and they did a battery and altenater check and said everything was fine so i have no clue. I would really appreciate all the help i can get. THANK You....

sounds like a typical jippy lube trick, break the car and say it was already like that and to goto a shop that'll quickly take care of things.
you shold have had autozone scan the car computer for codes.
Yes, it is a 1995 and is NOT OBD-II, however they can pull the codes with a Ford OBD-I scan tool.
some of this is sounding like they pulled or loosened the alternator wire(s).
Jiffy lube will deny any wrongdoing, as they are only oil changers, not mechanics.

OK OK OK OK DEAR I FOUND YOU.accordingly it seems you're dealing with alot of symptoms. 1st get it checked out. the check engine light is on for a reason if not many. get it checked out before you do damage to the car 2nd when it it determined what the initial cause is try to understand it & gewt it repaired. when you have time go to aaa.com & go to the maintenace section that will help you to understand what can happen during these situations & what services to heve performed to keep things like this in check.get it checked professionally. autozone people can help you at the moment & they are sincere but you need a diagnosis, what may seem electrical may be a fuel problem so before you spend any money get it diagnosed because if the car is paid for, it may need servicing but will be much cheaper than buying a new car. if in doubt get an independant diagnosis...take care

Take it to any one BUT Jiffy. Have them put it on a lift and check the wiring, in particular at the transmission neutral switch. Sounds like when their grease monkey was under there he bumped something and the neutral switch cable is intermittently shorting out against the transmission. Have a 88 Camero that was doing that, when you would turn left the horn, turn sigs, etc. would quit and kill the motor. Right turns were no problem. Found chaffing in the cable just a few inches from the switch and it would rub or hit the tranie only on left turns.

The check engine light may be on because the person that changed the oil might have checked yoour air filter and left a sensor unplugged to the air cleaner box. The other problem sounds like your starter soleniod is gradually going out. No ones fault but age and milage on that one.

first there is nothing under your car that will cause this problem it sounds like the alternater you ford came with a motorcraft or a mitsubishi both with internal regulators lots of these cars had a problem with the pigtail going the the alternater take it to a qualified tech to have checked out.

it may be the computer. get the computer check by a mechanic. they will put it on a machine and tell you everything that is wrong with the car. sounds like some kind of electrical problem.

Try reseting the computer, I used to sell Fords and sometimes you have to "reboot" ( no kidding).. Undo the battery for about fifteen minutes or so then hook 'er back up.. should reset.
Good luck.

That would be the alternator(most likely) or a dying battery. Been there!!
