I have been working from home for a short time with a wonderful company. They have really allowed me to be able to stay home with my five children and still bring in extra income. They have been in business for a little over twenty years and have been members in good standing with the BBB ever since they opened their doors. Also, at the end of 2005 they were awarded the BBB's Hall of Fame award. Among several other prestigous awards. I will be upfront with you they do have a very low start up fee which was a must since my husband was the only one working and we had five children to support. If you are interested in making a change in your finances you can either email me at lesleelongoria@sbcglobal.net or you can check out my web sites and click on "Get More Info."

Actually, you're right, most of them are scams, but the ones I've found that actually do pay, also charge you for listing with them (www.freelanceworkexchange... you can do a free trial for $2.95. I've had some success with them, but haven't really been there long enough to decide if it's worth the monthly fee... I'm looking for a job *out* of the home right now, tho.). I would strongly recommend that you actually set it up as a business, and contact local businesses in your area (with a resume and a sales letter), letting them know about your services. Some good ideas to contact: real estate agents, churches (updating and maintaining databases), and local business owners. Just my 2 cents... I will tell you that I've looked for something like that on and off for about 10 years, tried a lot of home data entry databases, and a lot of online sales stuff, and never had a lot of luck. Your best bet may just be to keep looking on the job boards: www.careerbuilder.com, www.monster.com, etc... and update your resume. Be sure you get tested (for free at local temp agencies) for your speed and accuracy, you'll need it if you find something... just tell them you're looking for a job, and they'll test you... then ask if you can have a copy of your test... most will give it to you. Anyways, sorry it's not very helpful, but it's just been my experience that they're not easy to find. I will tell you, though, be sure that you're mentally prepared. I've been working at home with my 19 month old twin boys since their birth, and it only took about 6 months before I realized that I would never get anything done, and had to hire someone to watch them anyways... I did enjoy the freedom from a dress code, and no commute, though. :D

The real money is not in the "data entry or envelope stuffing" type businesses. Starting your own website is not only more profitable in the long run, it's a whole lot more fun. If you are thinking you don't know how to start, this site has some great information. The ebooks are by people that know what it is all about. I have a couple of them, implimented their techniques and now I am seeing reslults. You can do it to you just have to make a decision to do it.

Try "gap day care" - some moms have gaps in their child care arrangements....day care center closes at 6pm mom doesn't get off work til 8-9pm, pre-school gaps as well - maybe someone needs two hour block in the early afternoon.
I wouldn't commit to an all day job - but a couple of two and three hour blocks won't wear you out.
Another option; find a night shift family and get paid for night time child care - the kid should be sleeping thru most of the shift and you get paid!

Are they scams because you know first hand or are you going by what others are saying?
If it has been personal experience, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced that.
If you'd like, you are more than welcome to take a look at my "highlighted" blogs. If you would like more information, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
Just because it is network marketing, does not mean it is a scam. I do understand your fear and concerns though.
You just have to do a lot of research and you can always check with the BBB on whatever company you are considering.
There is also a post on my blog that focuses on what to look for when researching any company.
Best of Luck to YOU!

Hi I am an internet marketer, and I have dabbled in mlm for fun. Mlm sucks but there are real opportunities. Actually a good friend of mine recently put up a site with his top few picks about making money from home. He definitely knows what he is talking about, he makes a couple 100G's a year with this stuff. The site is www.timetofindit.com, just check it out and see what he has to say about it.

Well, all I can tell you is that you have to be very careful... I've been scammed more than once... If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is... Check to see if they are registered with the Better Business Bureau... Go to Google.com and type in data entry jobs online...

There is a company that was mentioned on a news station that really is looking for people like that. I think the name is Alpine or something similar.
Check some news websites for info or check Alpine and see.
I forgot, but it was just on the news before June 3, 2006 and I said to myself, I would look into it so I can quit my job. SMILE
