I wanna make an appointment this Friday or Wednesday for Birth Control. How soon is too soon? Can I get on Birth Control right away or should I wait and use condoms for now?

Usually you have to start BC in sync with your period, so I would see a doctor or nurse practitioner about it. Most BCPs work like this: You take the pill on the first day of your period and you are immediately protected or you take the first pill on Sunday after your period starts. So to get an idea, if your period started on Wednesday, you would either take it that day, or on Sunday. If you use the "Sunday start" you will not be protected for 7 days following and will need to use alternative protection.

Also, what the other nurse up there said about not having intercourse right away, is correct.

Im so sorry for your loss. I actually went through kind of the same thing in november last year. Just be careful and use some kind of protection between now and the doctor visit. I miscarried once in october and when i went to get put on birth control they told me i was pregnant again! It unfortunately resulted in a miscarriage as well. I went on the nuva ring with in a week of the conceptum passing through.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm not sure, But I think you should wait until your period (not this bleeding now, but your next true period) as by then all the pregnancy hormones will have left your body. If you feel up to making love, use a condom for now. By all means make an appointment and chat to your family planning and get your prescription. They will advise you further there.

Best wishes and gentle hugs xxx

Yes you can get on birth control right away cause you could get pregnant again only 14 days after a miscarriage.

Just don't have sex until you get on birth control cause you are more fertile now after being pregnant.

Sorry for your loss

first of all you are not supposed to have sex after miscarriage and you are supposed to go back to a doctor that is when you asked the doctor for birth control so call your doctor and make and appointment and when you call asked them about your concern they should be able to help you and answer any questions you may have. Good Luck.

after my miscarriage my doc recommended getting me on birth control right away cause if you get pregnant again with in 8 weeks after a miscarriage you have a higher chance of having another miscarriage and harming your body. it takes 8weeks to 6 months for a body to fully heal from a miscarriage

You should wait until you get a menstrual cycle, and use a back up method until then because you are still fertile prior to your next cycle.
