I have been to residential treatment, been in outpatient therapy, been to a phsyc ward, had equine therapy, and I have had all of the help I could ever ask for from my parents, but I keep falling back into the same pattern. It has destroyed my relationship with my family and friends, It has embarrassed me to the point that I cannot go to school anymore and I am doing home-bound education. I have a year until I graduate from high school and go off to college, from what I hear It will be much more difficult to recover in college than It is now while I still have the help of my parents. But they are giving up on me, how can I ask for help? If I dissapoint them again they will surely give up, but how can I be perfect, and most importantly, where can I find the stregth and inspiration to get up every morning with my mind set on recovery? I would give anything to go back to the residential treatment center with this new knowledge of how devestating my disease is. HELP, my life is at stake!

One sentence sort of sticks out: "...but how can I be perfect...?"

You know what?

You don't need to be perfect.

Slow down...relax....reduce the pressure. Take care of yourself...eat........relax......talk.......but don't for a second think you gotta be perfect. You don't. You just gotta be a little healthier than you are being.

Well, I can't pretend to understand this problem; but there is one who can..The one who created you knows your need, He is able and willing to fill that place inside that needs the help you want... You've tried everything else with all your strength, but the problem is not addressed because your Spirit is sick and needs a touch from God.

There are things in this life that only can be healed by God. Whether you believe in Him or not, the fact is that He does exist, He DOES care, and He is willing to help you if you but go to Him sincerely. Being fake will get you nothing, if you are desperate for help, then Try God. Do not give up, keep going until you find a church with people who are willing to support you and encourage you with prayer and their own personal committment... He tells us to bring our burdons to Him; to seek Him and He can be found.... if you have had enough of your own failures, then try God... what have you to lose? He loves you enough to die for you, He is waiting on us to come home...

So, go back to the residential treatment center again. Talk with your parents and tell them how you feel. Ask them for their help and support. And remember that you will never be perfect. Noone is.

I wish I could help you but I cant. You're the only one who can help yourself.
Ive suffered with anorexic and bulimia in the past and there was absolutly nothing anyone could say to me then to make me want to get better. After hundreds of times of making myself soo sick from drinking gallons of water, constantly having a sore throat, messing up the sinks (from throwing up in them), excersizing till I thought I was going to die, always feeling weak, hating myself everyday for what I was doing, and making myself miserable worrying about my weight I finally was able to get over it myself. It took a while but Im fully recovered now. You just really have to want to help yourself.

You can stop.

Eating, or not eating, vomiting, using dieretics, or whatever else you do is completly within your control.

It is very easy - if you want to stop - and be healthy - eat.

If you want to die, that is your business too.

But it is your choice, and under your control.

you have to stay strong and keep thinking that your life is at stake and each time you even think of doing it ask yourself is it a good idea or not?
