Republicans will alwyas say that a soldiers family cannot complain if their child was killed or wounded in a war because that soldier signed on the DOTTED line . I am so sick of republicans constantly Bashing Our American Soldiers and everytime they die in war the reposnse from anti Military republicans is always" They knew they would go to war when they signed on the dotted line" Isnt this wrong and republicans owe an apology to the families of our fallen soldiers for their anti military remarks?

Read all the republican posts STILL BASHING OUR MILITARY saying they got what they signed up for. This makes me so angry that republicans think its OK that our soldiers are being slaughtered.

It is wrong. The soldiers are the pawns of the bigger lie.

Asked why a nuclear power such as North Korea was being treated differently from Iraq, where hardly any weapons of mass destruction had been found, [Paul Wolfowitz] said: "Let's look at it simply. The most important difference between North Korea and Iraq is that economically, we just had no choice in Iraq. The country swims on a sea of oil." [Guardian 4/6/2003]

George W Bush, March 2002: "F___ Saddam. we're taking him out."
The Downing Street Memo, July 2002:
There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy.

Ministers were warned in July 2002 that Britain was committed to taking part in an American-
led invasion of Iraq and they had no choice but to find a way of making it legal. [Times]

The RAF and US aircraft doubled the rate at which they were dropping bombs on Iraq in 2002 in an attempt to provoke Saddam Hussein into giving the allies an excuse for war ... By the end of August the raids had become a full air offensive. [Times]

They dropped precision-guided munitions on Saddam Hussein's major western air-defense facility, clearing the path for Special Forces helicopters that lay in wait in Jordan. Earlier attacks had been carried out against Iraqi command and control centers, radar detection systems, Revolutionary Guard units, communication centers and mobile air-defense systems. The Pentagon's goal was clear: Destroy Iraq's ability to resist. This was war. ... This was September 2002--a month before Congress had voted to give President Bush the authority he used to invade Iraq, two months before the United Nations brought the matter to a vote and more than six months before "shock and awe" officially began. Republicans are anit-military? really? Seems to me that we have a stronger and better equipped military with the republicans than we do the "other" party.
Republicans are the ones that spend the Money to make sure that soldiers have what they need. The "other" party never wants to give them a living wage, let alone the equipment required to fight a war.
And the truth is that they did "sign on the dotted line." that doesn't mean they aren't missed. And it doesn't mean that no one cares. It means that they are respected for the choice they made. American soldiers are grown men and women that want to be where they are and understand what that means. The last thing they want is for you to baby them and act like they have no choices. Freedom of choice is what they work for.

I am close to this situation. They did sign on that dotted line. This is especially true for a soldier that signed on that line after Sept 11.

The previous three submitters spoke the truth. I am also a Republican who doesn't hear Reps bashing the war-- maybe 1 or 2; but not many.

That could have been my brother- in- law that was murdered in Iraq. It wasn't my brother-in-law. A "flip of the coin" could have made it different. He CHOSE to go to Iraq instead of Europe for 3 years with my sister. My sister is also Army. She joined a year before 9-11. She was in Iraq for the beginning of the war and has to go back soon. Neither one has complained.

Sorry to tell you that. I am sad for any loss that you may have had.

To respond to your late post about Republicans: That was unnecessary.

Some Republican ARE the families of fallen soldiers. I happen to be the sister of a current soldier, the daughter of a Vietnam Vet, the grand-daughter of a career vet, and a Republican. I haven't heard any soldier-bashing from Republicans. It's Democrats who are protesting at the funerals of fallen soldiers!! They are the ones who should be apologizing to the families!

When you join the Military you know you could go to ar because Uncle Sam is gonna send ya where they wanna send you.

The Republicans are not bashing the Troops when they say this cause it is the Truth.

If you do not wanna fight in War then don't join the service.

Don't wanna listen to me then why don't you ask a Soldier.

In 2004 a new Soldier told me he was willing to die if he must, no he was not planning to die, he talked about what his Plans were after he is out of the service, but he said he is willing to die if it must happen.

Republicans are not anti-military....liberals are the one who constantly bash their efforst overseas...It is true that soldiers knew what they were signing up for, that is what makes them heros.
And the way those two soldiers were killed IS a major part of the reason we are there.

Words. We have diverse views once again about a war that is seemingly unpopular with America. The President said in his reelection that he wanted to bring people together, yet we are a country divided right down the middle
I ask myself did those who were killed or wounded ask to be in harms way, no way. Yet they were sent without body armor, vehicles with no armor protection, lacking command and control from higher ups, and the list gets longer. Actions or in this case, inaction, speaks louder then all the words put forth.

When do we see full funding for the VA to help these returning vets and their families. Like I say words are hollow when there is inaction.

What is wrong is using the deaths of these honorable men who served their country in the military as a spring-board for you to sling political mud and propaganda. By your very question and statement, you are no better than the Republicans you claim to dislike. It is shameful and I am sad.

God bless the soldiers that sacrafice so much--regardless of the politics.

When people enlist in the army, they are aware that thy could die in combat. If there is anyone not supporting our troops it's the Left with the constant outcry to cut and run. There is absolutely NO support coming from the Left for our nations men and women in uniform. No one owes an apology to people who die in combat. What they deserve is a thank you for fighting for our country. Every time you hear the National Anthem, or every time you Pledge Allegiance to the Flag, or every time you hear Taps, or every time Memorial Day or Veterans day is here you should honor all those who have fought and those who have died for our country. Giving your life is the ultimate sacrifice so every time you see a man or women in uniform thank them for all they do to protect you and keeping Americans safe.
