Did he discuss it with you first? If no, he sounds very selfish.
If yes, do you love him enough to try and understand why this is sooo important to him?
I would start there.

If it was where I think your talking about...YES it's like a fairy tale..ahhhhhhh but in my reality show (my life) no I would not move,,if they love me, they can follow me around, I have been the puppy dog for too long, ok so I am jaded... if I wasn't...I would so follow my love to the ends of the earth. Edit: I read some of these other answers, I really feel like getting the heck outta here, just me? I have traveled, and found that being in different country's doesn't just mean a change of residence, it means a change of culture, and I am so up for it. I try not to just think (in the box) I would love to move to Greece (but Europe is so outta my league), Canada, Australia, and England.

If the person is only a boyfriend or a girlfriend, then they have to make choices and decisions for themselves that will be good for the lives in the long run. Growing up means setting goals for your life, which include careers.
You should be forming you own career and life goals; these goals may or may not include the boyfriend or girlfriend. Life goals and career choices are normal "growing up" things to make. What would be immature and irresponsible would be choosing to stay for someone you are just dating. Love has nothing to do with geography, but everything to do with mature, responsible choices.

Just because someone's job may not be a career to you, that doesnt mean that it doesnt mean the world to them. If you expect someone to stay for you instead of their dreams, then you are going to be a very lonely woman. A person's dreams are extremely important, and I dont think that they would feel good about you talking about what they love to do that way.

the love of my life left for Germany - when he graduated from high school - I was still in high school and could not go with him - it hurt terribly - how could he live me if he loved me - that was the question - not if his career was important or not.......we are together today - almost 25 years later - my point is if the two of you are to be together - you will be

if it can affect his/her future, i think this got nothing to do with they love you not. There are individuals out there who put career in front of everything so it doesnt mean that they love/ dun love you.

There is a saying :" If you love something, set it free; if it comes back, it is yours. If it doesn't, it never was." Do you love him enough to let him go ? If you do, and he comes back, he is yours.... If he doesn't come back, he was never yours to begin with.... And you will have lost nothing.
