The sun exploding

Humans will reach a technological sophistication where they will be able to prevent the moon from leaving

I don't know if they will be able to prevent the sun from exploding though

Surely you're not planning on either of those things happening in your lifetime, are you? Anyway, it would be the 1st: the sun exploding. That is actually a scientific prediction, however, it's not going to happen for another few billion years, or so, supposidly. The moon will probably not leave its rotation around the Earth, ever, on purpose or on its own. That I am aware of, no scientist has ever said anything about the moon except: how it might have been formed, what it was made of, whether or not man should go there, whether or not the materials on the moon can/will be harvested, and what its rotation causes on the Earth. Hopefully, I'll be forgiven if I left "something" out! I don't think the moon's going anywhere. Sorry - - - - -

The Moon is already leaving. It is moving away farther from the Earth every hour. The Sun may go Nova in about 5 Billion years. So wait around for it to happen it should be a grat sight >

The moon will leave it's orbit first. While this will take millions of years the sun will last for several billion more.

i have astronomy class so in about 5 million years the sun will explode and the moon won't leave the earth will simply slow down in several million years to match its rotation rate
