try cleaning it. reinstalling the drivers. if those dont work. might needed a new one.

3 things. Either the memory card reader is dead, the memory card itself is no longer working properly, or you may need to reinstall the drivers for the memory card reader. I am sure everyone else will mention the same three things and perhaps elaborate for you.

I concur. Although your most likely candidate is the drivers. Just go into your Control Panel/System settings, click on the Hardware tab and select the Device Manager Button. Find your reader and uninstall it. When you've done all that reboot your computer and Windows will automatically reinstall the reader. That should fix your problem... if that doesn't work... throw the damn thing out the window... a new one will only cost you like $10.

Could be dirty, a hardware conflict, software conflict, or even a bad card. Try using another card. If that doesn't work, it's your reader's problem. Check all wires in the reader to make sure they are secure and not broken in any way. If you need detailed instructions on how to test wires for breaks...message me. if they are good, it maybe time to look for another card reader. They are easy to install, and I could guide you through that too via messages or e-mail.
