I was just reading that in a question that was deleted... nighthawk676 (something like that) said it...

I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY ODD STATEMENT AND I HAVE LIVED IN THE SOUTH ALL MY LIFE AND THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT LIBERALS....

I was just thinking "hey... maybe I'm wrong"... are there stats on this? Can I look this up somewhere?

Personally, this may be the most uninformed statement that I think I have ever read on here (and that's saying something), since everyone I have ever known that is rascist in the south is VERY CONSERVATIVE...

but hey... I've been wrong before... can anyone cite this... or does it sound funny to anyone else?

I dunno. I have lived in the south for 38 years, being born and raised in central N.C., in a little town called Faith, N.C.. That little town was/is home to some of the nation's most powerful klansmen, and to this day has never had a single black resident. While it's true, they do have what some would consider conservative values, to call one a republican is a MAJOR insult. They are democrats. And proud of it. Go figure. I personally think it has a lot to do with the fact the Lincoln was a Republican, and they don't want to be associated with his political party. I'm constantly picked on my these old men, because I call them oxymorons. Only I'm smart enough to only do it in jest. I ain't going out of my way to offend anyone who can ghost my *** on a whim. But I remember at the age of 16, I had a broken antennae on my AMX, and one of the old guys told me my "ariel went republican on me". That's their way of thinking. When something is broken, it's gone republican.

Panacae,
You really need to read a history book and probably the original Marx wouldn't hurt either. First, as to the Klan being democrats this is not true today, they are more than likely republicans. True, back before the republicans took over the south politically these people were probably democrats as people from the south were mostly democrats. As to the democratic party being Marxist I would say you are wrong as the republican party displays more Trotskyite Marxist behavior. Now, you probably noticed I included a word before Marxist. This was to show that true Marxism (communism) is different than the Marxism you identify which is very similar to fascism (right wing.) Which leads to my second point and that is Naziism is fascism. No roots in Marxism as they hated the Soviet Union and communists and socialists.
As to the KKK being liberal... someone is laughing somewhere.
Liberals, BTW, have their roots in The Enlightenment not Marxism. Some of Karl Marx's thinking also came from The Enlightenment, especially Rousseau.

It's not the clan that is liberal. The clan has always been a religious organization and liberals are anti-thetical to christianity. However, the clan has always been associated with the democratic party.....before the democratic party was taken over by marxists. Note that most of the "equal rights" crowd back then as today are marxists. When they took over the dems, the clan abandoned them. However, the clan has never been a part of conservative thought. It is part of the left's vicious hate propaganda that they call conservatives racist, when in fact it is their own party that is rooted in that. Further, today, the conservative republican party has many blacks in real positions of power and influence and a multicultural organization. The dems are not (wasn't Howard Dean's quip about the only black people there were those serving coffee....FUNNY....not).

No...the people you are talking about are the neo-nazis (you know, the ones that recently came out in solidarity with Al-Queda). National SOCIALISM (ie nazism) has its roots in marxist thought, just like the liberals do. They have similar goals and similar behaviors. Both groups want genocide.

Conservatives, on the other hand are strongly anti-racist both past and present.

NOT TRUE AT ALL!! The KKK is the extreme right. The KKK could be compared to Eco-Terrorist. But that does not mean the they are liberal. Their views are extremely conservative making them on the extreme right. Eco-Terrorist share the same views as many Americans but people are not going to blow up cars and start fires. (Please to do not take this as the entire right is racist because that is not the case, but the KKK is a religious organization and so like it or not they are on the right.)

Looking at this example its shows that political views are in a circular spectrum. The far left and the far right are closer to each other than they are to people in their own idea of thought.

Liberal and conservative are two terms that literally suck. I prefer left wing and right column.
The weakness of the left is their flexibility so the name "wing" should apply.

The right's inability to see things in any other viewpoint should earn them the name "column" to reflect their lack of flexibility.

I prefer we call both sides Americans first.

Ignorance is bliss. Ofcourse KKK folks are liberal as long as you look just like them, act just like them, talk just like them, believe in the same things as them ECT... you get the point.

That is a weird thing to say and, of course, not true. Why was it said? Somebody needed attention.
