It's a good thing that the organizers of the 2006 FIFA World Cup now bans stripping among players.

To take the shirt off, either totally or partially, and then raise it up with one hand is a sign of love for the team or the country, which is represented by the shirt itself. After the ban, players used to wear undershirts with special dedications written thereon. Now this practice has also been forbidden and it is punished with a yellow card, as a warning.

The kissing is optional as this is a cultural custom, depending upon the nationality of the players. Now, the embracing is universal and it is a rite that demonstrates team work and solidarity.

Although he's not my favorite player, I'd liken Edgar Davids to a Badger or Wolverine. He's one of the fiercest players in the world and has no regard for the player that he's tackling. others include Peter Crouch = "Special Needs" Giraffe Essien = Pit Bull Rooney = Grizzly Bear

Well it is a cultural thing. You see in Europe and some parts of south america it is very common to embrace and kiss a friend, to show your caring and affection. Specially when everybody in the team is so happy that u scored a goa. It goes to show how u feel inside about the happiness and letting the person that did the goal. Fifa baned striping becouse it showed disrespect to the other team.

They didn't strip naked. They just take off their shirt. I don't think they want people all over the world see them naked.

Your biased question won't confirm your expectations.

You are exaggerating and generalizing your projection.

And finally, if they did so, what is your problem?

Either they are hot, or they want to show off what is underneath. (like a logo or picture on their undershirt)
