In my opinion, both of them has their own style but I will choose Mariah Carey because her voice is to powerful compare to Beyonce. Mariah Carey has advantage in whistling style. Mariah Carey also has won many awards for vocal performance. The latest is Best R&B Vocal Performance at Grammy Awards 2006 for 'We Belong Together'.

Mariah has a better range, but let me say that Beyonce, sings and dances at the same time, and she doesn't run out of breath, which is pretty incredible. Mariah just stands there basically, and she still lipsynchs half the song, including the long note at the end of we belong together.
