How about a logo design that is a guitar cord (or amp cord) all tangled up in a mass, and the end of it shaped into a figure 8?
I did a T shirt design recently for a band which was similar (didn't have the figure 8, though)....you'd have to make yours look different, so as not to infringe on the copyright.
