you can reuse plastic bottles to mix fertilizer for your garden, or if it's clean to mix seasonings for marinades. i sometimes keep them to put used oil in if i've fried foods. once the oil is cooled you can put it in the bottle, put the lid on, and throw it in the trash. once upon a time i actually used to pour oil down the sink which often caused plumbing problems.

many uses for paper bags: to store things like books, magazines, newspapers. can be shredded for pet bedding (but not rodents... they will eat it and it may not be safe). take some scissors and with a few creative cuts you can make a huge mask or smock for small children to play in (my mom did that when we were kids).

as far as cans... well coffee cans can be used for storage of dry items. or use it as a planter if you poke a few holes in the bottom. any can opened with a can opener i don't think i'd reuse... the edges of the cut metal can cut you and you may get an infection.

Welp....A aluminum can has many crafting possibilities. Take one...spread peanut butter all over the outside of it....roll it in bird seed and hang it by the tab....Yummy treat for birds.
I've seen some pretty cool looking mobiles made from cans too.
A plane for one! Plastic bottles can be filled with water and turned upside down and used as a slow watering source...just put it in the dirt. Also you can cut the tops off of them and use the bottoms to start seedlings. The top 3/4 of it can now be recycled and used as a funnel! I use my paper bags to line my garbage can but only for the recycleable junk mail etc. You can use them to make large amount of popcorn.....pop your corn...throw it in the bag and shake it up. The grease sticks to the bag....(that's if you're not using microwave popcorn.
Oh....the plastic bags! 1 more thing. I bought a smaller kitchen can...I fold up all my bags individually and put a rubber band around them....(the ones with no holes) then throw a handfull of them in the bottom of the can then put a bag on it. That way when you take out the garbage...waaaa-laaa....there's the extra bags now waiting for you.

My grandpa used to feed birds, and aside from using empty jugs with handles as feeders, he used to punch a hole in the end of 2 liter bottles and and string them on the line that the feeders hung from. Because the bottles spun around, it prevented the squirrels from walking out on the rope and eating the birds out of house and home. Plus, it was hours on harmless entertainment for me and grandpa.
