Soap, as in a bar of soap is the worst thing to use at times because it makes your skin dry, at least it makes mine and they get really itchy. If you have liquid body wash, use it, but don't lather it. Conditioner works too.

No, it won't. People who make toiletries just want you to buy more stuff, so they advertise shaving cream as a specialized product that you can only use for one thing, and that you can't substitute anything else for. Everyone here touting these specialized products has just falling prey to the advertising.
Shaving cream doesn't make any difference in how your skin will be after you shave. I have used shaving cream, but I usually use just soap, and there really is no difference at all.

I agree with Carla, Shaving gel makes you skin feel smoother and better, but I always use soap, Shaving Cream is to expensive and goes so quick. Soap works, and is cheaper! I always use soap!

soap is ok but you dont get as good as a shave. if you do use soap, make sure you use some lotion and make sure its some good stuff. use some conditioner, it has the same texture as shaving cream.

It should be okay if it has a moisturizer in it. But I wouldn't use hand soap. Anything with a softening agent is good. Like hair conditioner even.

Dry skin always so irritating...I hate it so much...I suggest you try using Zenmend Derma Lotion from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com.
Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the
skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum
results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further
outbreaks.
Another product that I think is effective is Atopalm. This dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now. (Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.

You would be alright to use so if once you are toweled off you use a high quality moisturizer, if moisturizer is not available don't use the soap it itches.
