I never had a ticket before. I got a ticket 2 weeks ago for a crack on my windshield which it cracks a month ago. I fix it and got it sign off from a police. How much do I usually have to pay because I they send me a court day and I call to ask but they have an automatic answer thing that tell me I have to pay $124? It’s stupid because it’s not like I ran a red light, run a stop sign, or speeding. Also my court date is tomorrow June 21, should I dress up in slack and tie, thug out cause I’m mad, or casual?

As dressed up and respectful as you can look will work most in your favor. The judge is looking for a law abiding citizen, unjustly accused - not a thug, who if he is not guilty for this, he might be guilty for something else.

I don't know what it will cost in your state. You should be casual - certainly the officer stopped you for a safety concern, but it has been cleared up to everyone's satisfaction, can the fine be lifted?

As a defense, I would try to say that the crack was not in the line of vision and so in your opinion it was not a safety concern - but you don't want trouble so you did what the officer said and fixed it anyway. If you have a witness who would say the same thing, bring them along if they can be respectful too.

If there are no pictures and you have 1 or 2 people (great is one is your parent) who will say that the crack wasn't in line of site you might be able to beat it, especially if the ticketing officer is not there. The fact that you have a spotless driving record will help.

Peace!

Well, the law says you can't have cracks on your windshield. So even though I don't know how much the fine is...you have to pay it. I think it may just be a court fine, which is standard for going to court. It may have nothing to do with your ticket.

Go, and ask anyway. Nothing bad can come from it right? Dress up. Right now's not the time to be acting all bad and thug'd out. There's a time and a place...court, before a judge, with police...not the place. Get it my friend?

At all times, be nice and cordial. Mind your please and thank you's.

You have a court date to challenge the ticket? If this is the case then you want to put your best foot forward. So I would dress up in the slacks and tie. Show that you are worthy of the dismissal of this ticket. I would explain how it happened and the reason as to why it took so long for you to get the problem fixed. Try to be as forthcoming as possible but also try to make it sound as if you weren't able to get it done right away.

I got pulled over last week, the first time in over 25 years of driving, for guess what? The stupid thing that my hubby put around the license plate, he gave me a ticket for no seat belt, but boy was I ticked. I see people fly past me house everyday, all day. So don't feel so bad, it happens to all of us.

Act and dress like a professional. Driving with a cracked windshield can be more dangerous than speeding. It can impare your vision. It makes your car less safe in a roll over accident. The glare that it causes could blind another driver. My windshield started to crack 2 weeks after I got my brand new car. It was fixed within a couple of days. It's not stupid. It's a safety thing.

I'd dress up, look responsible, make it a big point that you've never gotten a ticket before, that you have had the problem fixed, etc. I have never heard of someone getting a ticket for a cracked windshield, thats pretty ridiculous, I'm glad cops are keeping on top of the things that really matter, now we know where our tax payer dollars go, to keep those cracked windshield owners in line....

Go to court , show the receipt on repair. Be nice. Hopefully the police officer will be giving others tickets for cracked windshields. If he doesn't appear it will be dismissed.

Isn't it nice, that in a changing world, some things never change. IE. policemen.

First of all, having cracks on the windshield is a crime (same as having an air freshener hanging from the mirror; it is obstructing vision). Second, I would suggest you where formal attire, as it could make a better impression. Now, if you didn't know about the problem, you could explain this to the judge. I can't guarantee that this will help, but it might. Good luck with your hearing.

go and take some bread like 20 or forty and listen to the judge and be mr respect and atie isnt wrong but a lawyer could get it thrown out or reduced to nothing a lawyer is the reason more blacks are in prison than whites the whites call the lawyer and pay to have a win no matter the costs so rethink a lawyer and or just go in and be the perfect citizen and the clerk will take payments according to your situation or call the judge an A$$ and get some time picking trash off the roads for contempt

Go to court and dispute the ticket. The officer probably won't be there and it will be dismissed. Bring proof that you had it fixed and that you never had a ticket before. Dress in nice pants and a shirt. You don't need a tie. Polish your shoes and get a conservative haircut.

That is really stupid. You should go dressed really nice but tell the judge that you just didn't have the money to get the windshield fixed right away and that you don't have money for tickets.
