News. Movies you can shut off; they're not a part of reality, the horror we must live (like war, etc.).
It's a shame we don't hear more "good news".

Hmmm... The news has never made me jump or scream, But the fact that its base on true events makes it scarier. But where theres a movie based on a true story that is scarier, it beats the news.

The news because it involves real people and shockingly grotesque stories that happen in our world every day. At least when you're watching a horror movie you can turn it off and it can no longer affect you; the news will happen weather you watch it or not.
