Some are gaining a voice, now that Christianity is under open attack by peoples like the ACLU, and the left under the guise of separation of church and state. The ACLU know full and well there is no separation of churh n state in the us constitution, but they ignor that fact. They know liberal judges bend and stretch the interpretation of the 2nd amendment to fit their own needs, not the framers intent. But that neither here nor there. Christians are beginning to realize if we dont stand up we will lose our rights in the future. They are being slowly chipped away at, one right at a time. Like the girl who graduated top of her class. She was asked to give a speech explaining what motivated her to achieve excellence. She gives all credit to God, and the power to her microphone was cut. So much for freedom of speech and freedom to worship in america, right?

I'm gonna guess that the type of "Christian" you are talking about are the types who seem to be setting the agenda in the White-house I was prepared to discuss this matter with you until you brought up the issue of Gay marriage. I could sense the venom in your voice when you said that and it made me realize that the Christ you purport to know isn't the one I do. My saviour would not lead a march of Neo-fascist extremists who are so confused about their own sexuality that they would readily attack someone who may threaten their own "dirty little secret" The Jesus I know teaches love and acceptance for all. Maybe you should look beyond TV preachers and start exploring the words of Christ. And just for the record, although it really shouldn't matter, I am a straight Christian male Try Love instead of Hate

No, I think that Christians are active enough in society as it is - including politics. You have to put up with liberal crap? What about me putting up with conservative idiocy that I face everyday, not being able to buy alcohol on Sundays or anything other than "essential items" before 1:30 on your day of worship. I don't want a religion that I don't believe in to affect my daily life - so keep your protests of abortion in your church and treat others with compassion and love on the streets, instead of marching out of bigotry and hatred.

For the same reason any other citizen should. People who think that having active Christians in politics is a violation of church and state seperation have it reversed. It would be a violation of the first amendment if Christians were prohibited from voting or running for office.

When religeons embrace each other and accept they are all equal before there own divine being. That'll be the day.Religeon should have no place in politics.More people have been slaughtered in the name of religeon than all thier respective gods will ever save.No they are all bigots because they believe only thier god is right and all the others are false, even worse they can quote thier holy book to prove thier beliefs You only need to look at these answers to this question Would you honestly like some of these crackpots running your lives When in middle ages thier only was one religeon did that stop the slaughter? sadly no they brought out the inquisition because some christians were'nt devout Keep them in churches

You are absolutely correct. I believe the reason that society is so hell bend on getting Jesus out our society is because satan is at work. He is trying to make it that way, trying to make people think there is no God. There truly is no other real religion than christianity, so the people that believe pagan religions are doing satan's work for him. Thats why christians should do their best to keep Jesus in society. We need to be kind and loving and stand up in the way that Jesus would want us to.

it is a tough choice to make....
On one hand we are told that we should spread the word of GOD.... Then we are told to turn the other cheek...how can the two go hand in hand?
I think, if christians like Bush and that guy who called for the assination of an international leader( dont know why i cant remember his name...) would practice what they preach the christian society would have a more credible stance in the world, but when you have figure heads like these, saying that GOD has asked them to commit acts of violence, it is easy to understand why so many others are offended...........
But we have all been granted free will and we must all make our own choices, i am sorry if that does not answer your question but perhaps this will help you find one for yourself.
Truth does not come from the mind, it comes from the heart, if your mind follows your heart and you know what choose is right then you should take comfort in that and thank GOD for all his gifts (gifts=presents[present as in today..right now])
Peace to all....now more than ever...

Why to christians not recognize and celebrate the love of two gay people who want to get married?
I would think they would be supportive of Love. Do they think its not love? Then why would they want to get married in the first place. They can already stay home and have sex as much as they want. Would christians rather have a gay person not in a committed exclusive relationship?

HAHAHAHAHA!
Oh, are you serious?
Did you know that we have never had a non-christian president? Did you know that every morning Congress convenes for a Christian prayer? Did you know that Christianity is the most common religion in the US? Did you know that "under God" was put into the Pledge of Allegiance by christian politicians because of fear of atheists?
Should Christians be more active in politics and culture? Who is trying to outlaw Gay marriage right now? Who is trying to put creationism (a christian theory, not science) into science classes? Who is keeping teens from getting ahold of condoms? Furthermore, who is trying to keep adult Africans trying to avoid AIDS from getting ahold of condoms? Who is trying to overturn Roe v Wade? Who made it legal in many states for a pharmacist to deny a woman her legally obtained birth control pills? Who runs talk radio? Who writes hate-filled bestsellers about liberals? Who stopped the morning-after pill from being available over-the-counter, over the FDA's own recommendation? Who keeps bizarre liquor laws from the 1700's on the books?
I'll tell you who, Christians. Christians make the decisions in the US, and Christianity affects the laws of our country whether we want it to or not. Non-Christians are discriminated against in real ways every day, by their exclusion from decision-making and from common public rituals. You probably saw one South Park with "Jesus and Friends" and worked up a pretty amazing victim complex, especially for a member of the most powerful group in America, period. Either join a real minority group or quit whining.
