It's a matter of perception.
Is it okay to not know that kids could be hurt by strangers, or is it better to know the dangers out there and inform and teach the kids how to be safe?
Just an example..
We cannot wear rose colored glasses and believe that the everything around us is rosy.
But..
There are times it is better to not know. When two people meet and get close to getting married it is better not to know if one of them was in love with someone before, because that could be painful to the partner and it is not needed, because their life together is beginning and the past is past.
Hope this helps.

Ignorance isn't bliss. Only way is if you take your knowledge to extrremems. Think of it this way, when scientists create so much that destroy themselves like the atomic bomb and all then ignorance is bliss because it's best to have never known how to build it. Ignorance in daily term could never be bliss. Knowledge is such a wonderful thing.Knowledge always overrules it, if used for goodness.

Not in most cases. Yes, in a relationship, of course once you know your partner has been cheating on you, you're miserable and almost wish you didn't know. But you sure are better off knowing, aren't you? As far as socially, if you know what you're talking about you are more respected and have more fun. Ignorance is for those who choose not to have an impact on the world.

Well it depends. What you are ignorant to. it mite be bliss to not know your parents did heroin when u were growing up and that's past so there's really nothing you can do about it.. But if its something that's serous like your pregnant or you know when the worlds going to end. you do not want ignorance n this case. So you can do something about it.

No, no, and albeit I'm not the smartest person in the world, although I do have an IQ of 166, I'm quite happy, and I don't think that I would be as happy if not for the knowledge that I've accumulated over the years, of which has most definitely contributed to my success.

Ignorance IS bliss. The less you know about this place and the way it's REALLY run, the happier you'll be. I'm finding out the hard way.
Anyways, just think about it. If someone killed your cat but bought you a new one, you'd be happier if you never found out, right?

Ignorance is bliss only in terms of how much I pay each year in taxes.

I would rather know and be able to prepare myself to be unhappy. My father choose ignorance and now he has no retirement bacause my mother spent all his retirement funds. He was ignorant and bliss until the creditors called and made him in the know and unhappy.
