Its depends if the animal that was one change away from being a chicken by our standards today, made that last change. If the change occured before the animal hatched the chicken came last. If the change occured while the animal was living after birth the egg came last.

an egg will produce a chicken.. therefore the egg is not the last.. a chicken will lay another egg, and is not the last either... the answer to this is similar to the which comes 1st question.. its actally a nvr ending cycle that goes on and on.. neither is the last of first.. its jz repeating..

the egg, the chicken must have evolved from the single celled microbes at some point abandoning splitting itself and then requiring a second of its kind for fertalization and producing an egg. on the other hand an eggcould not protect itself and had to be laid by something, definately not another egg.
