Me too I love cats, cause if u ask me I would weather have a cat laying in my lap and purring than a stinking dog licking me in my face or any other animal that I can't cuddle.

I prefer cats, but that is because of what I look for in a pet. I prefer a pet that is generally self sufficient. Some people prefer something that is a little more needy and or emotional like dogs. Some people prefer something without a lot of financial requirements like goldfish. Ultimately, your personality and situation determines what makes the best pet.

Hello,
I really think that YOU are the only one that can answer that question. I have what are called "Nanny Dogs", and I love them dearly. They only have one coat (no undercoat to clog the vacuum), but must be kept in the house as they have no way to regulate their body temperature due to the lack of an undercoat. Actually you don't own them, they own you.
What I am trying to tell you is that whatever animal you pick is going to be with you a long time, and you must commit yourself to not only feeding and loving the animal, but most of all, the expense that goes along with you taking on an animal. And it can get quite expensive.
Animals are living longer, and I remember when I had to have a crutiate ligament repair in one of my dogs. The dogs hind leg, or the first bend is like our knee, and in many dogs that are of medium size this ligament goes when a dog is usually jumping down from stairs or couches, etc. Hip displaysia is another consideration as well as grooming, keeping cat or dog de-flead as fleas cause tapeworms. Dogs and cats usually get them by accidently swallowing a flea. I love all animals, and I wanted to be a Veterinarian, but my MCATS said I would do best as a bio-chemist/physicist. Ah well back to which is best. There is much to be said for both dog or cat, however you have to find the animal that loves you. When I place animals, I let the pup pick the person, and I have had no complaints in 32 years. A boy who had just lost his dog left my house cradling an 8 week old pup just like a baby, and she felt safe enough with him to allow him to carry her that way, and he had asked me when she could sleep next to him in his bed. Now this is an 8 week old pup, and we start their potty training. Anyway, I got a letter from this young man and he told me she hopped in bed with him the first night, and held all night, and she's been there ever since. Now that's a match.
You are the only one that can find that certain animal that loves you back as much as you love he or she. You will know it when the right animal comes along, just go with your instincts.
Take care, and give what ever animal you get all the love in the world and you will get it back 10 fold.
Sincerely,
NS

I prefer fish, but I love cats as well, because they're really fun to play with while young, especially I enjoy watching cats chase various things such as insects, mice, and kitty toys, clean up is easy, and of course I love to pet cats because their fur is so soft:)

Monkey's because they are practically human and who wouldn't want a monkey..!!!!!
This reminds me of a crazy story. I went to the beach the other day and as we were driving up the car in front of us slammed on its brakes. Why? Up ahead in front of the car, a peacock was crossing the street. It was the most bizarre thing ever. And then it's owner came chasing after it... WHO has a peacock as a pet..
Then again, who has a monkey as a pet --- okay well, a monkey is a cool pet that I wish i could have.

I have both dogs and cats and both are great pets. My dog is a little more needy than my cats. So, it is nice to be needed sometimes and then sometimes it is nice to just watch the cats twitch their tails in the sun.

I have a cat and a dog and they both are the same to me
my dog is half german shepard and half pitbull but she looks like a dalmation, shes friendly but also smart and protective the only time she growls is if she senses something wrong.
dogs are wonderful but alot of work.
my cat is a black cat shes very mysterious and loving in her own way I feel her Presence to be protective and loyal as well.
its a win win situation whatever you choose is fine, but if you like to travel and spend time away the cat is easier to have.

cats are lovely, more clean and if it s a short hair one easy to keep nice, but cats are independents so if u like to spoil them maybe they will not allow u , dogs are very companions, and u can spoil them like babies, but they are very smellly and dirty , all pets have a difficult points because they are living beings and they have different needs, they need us to take care of them, we must be responsibles for them and better not to ahve a pet if we are not able to give them all what they need and really love them.
