A test will may but, NOT ALWAYS be + the earliest 10 days past ovulation 4 days before a missed period. A OB can not tell a pregnancy has happend till things start to grow at about 7 weeks or they have a + blood test for HCG.A doctor then can feel a bigger womb and look for other signs of pregnancy. Most doctors will not see a pregnant women till anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks anyway. The best thing to do is TEST after a missed period then call the doctor. BTW A closed cervix dose happen in pregnancy but, it also happens before ovulation after a period so that is NOT A SURE sign of pregnancy! The cervix closes during a non pregnant cycle. It opens a lil at your period to allow blood out then closes again till around ovulation when it will open to allow sperm in. THEN closes after ovulation til the start of a new period.

One of the first physical symptoms of pregnancy is the closing of the cervix. If she did an internal exam, she probably would have found that. Did she run any blood or urine tests? Did you tell her you thought you may be pregnant? If yes to both, she may be waiting on test results before giving you results. If no, give her a call in the morning and ask.

The answer is NO. At only 'maybe' a week pregnant your body has not begun to go through any of the physical changes that will later occur, which would clue your doctor that you might be pregnant.
Physical signs of a possible pregnancy, such as softening of the cervix and lower uterine body, and color changes of the cervix and vulva, will not take place for several weeks. Even your uterine size hasn't changed. In fact, the little embryo probably isn't even implanted in the uterus wall yet! Unless you told your doctor you might be pregnant there is nothing happening to clue her in - even your period isn't late!
Good luck!

I'm having a difficult time understanding why you didn't ask the OB/GYN this same question when you were there today.
They are certainly the subject matter expert on the issue.
