Adding memory is the best way if you are already defragging your hard drive and running adware & spyware removers.
Software may claim to help but seldom do much good.
In case you need help with spyware -
AntiSpyware watches for cookies and other malicious things put on your computer by websites that want to spy on you. They will slow down your system.
You should have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.

Two other free programs you should get & run about once a week are Spybot and Adaware. They also are free and you can get them both here - http://www.download.com/
Between those three you are doing a pretty good job of protecting your system.

the best software that truly increases pc speed ANMD internet speed is system mechanic professional 6 hint hint: u can download it off of limewire or get a trial and go to serials.ws or serial.ws search for system mechanic 6 pro or without pro use the right key for the version u have and walah im seriose this is a incredible software TRUELY TH BEst i reccomend it or f ur a 100% law respectful person then just buy it its pretty cheap go to yahoo and type iolo system mechanic 6 download

Avoid installing too many software, it will reduce the performance of your PC. If you're connected to the Net, be sure to have a firewall or antivirus and a pop up blocker.
Too many programs loaded in you RAM will definitely make your PC slow.

If you're talking about "tweaking" Windows Registry to get faster response time, quicker bootup, quicker shutdowns, faster ram, optimized CPU cache etc....then WINner Tweak 3.6.0 is your answer...I've been using this software programing for years and YES it does make your computer faster and perform better...
But, Regular maintenance on your computer (Weekly) is a MUST...to keep your computer running at optimum effeciency...

There is no best software as such,,
Easyest ans low cost is maintanace. like u clean ur house clean ur laptop.
Dont install any files which u dont use..
Dont keep many items on ur desktop
if possible add some more ram.
regulary delete all the cockies and temporar internet files.
the are programs like rambooster, and plenty of them but i personally dont trust them

if your computer used to be fast and now is not, suppousedly, Norton System Mechanics would do the trick, but to tell you the truth... what I would do, I would burn my files onto CD-Rs and then I would reformat my PC, is the best.
if your computer was never fast... well, how can I tell you?, get a better one.

no...most softwares that say they make ur comp run faster just stops certain programs in the background and keeps your hard drive clean of temporary files and such.
now cleaning does not really make it faster. if you clean your house...does your house become new? not necessarily...same thing.
