I recently completed an application and an interview with my local Chick-Fil-A. He called and hired me and we are in the process of scheduling orientation. I'll probably work up front. Tell me... has anyone here worked at Chick-Fil-A? What it's like? How does it compare to other jobs? Is Sunday off a blessing or a conflict? Any info available would be helpful.

Just for reference: will be my first formal job, male age 16

My niece worked there and they were so good to her. It was her first job and she was supported in her studies and used that job to go on to bigger and better jobs all through college. She is now an honors graduate and works for an advertising agency. Her major account is in the fast food business!

Good luck with that...

I have never done it, but it looks like it is just about the same as any other fast food place. I think sunday off would be a benefit. That way you won't get a last minute call like..."So and so skipped today you need to come in," right when you were ready for church, fishing, or a nap on sunday. Enjoy your sunday off get some rest. Good luck.

Chick-Fil-A is a Christian company hence the Sunday closure. I have never worked there but the employees are always very upbeat, friendly and accomodating. It's a great place to take the kids especially Tuesday nights.

I don't work at one of those, but I manage a similar concept. The job will be fun if you are interested in people and the public. Be happy you for sure have a set day off. Often times in a place like this you may find yourself working day after day after day...But not Sunday!...anyway...it should be relatively easy and a good experience.

I used to work for them. They are a good company to work for.

Having Sundays off is a blessing!! You don't have to worry about that for your schedule. When the other people that work for Burger King, McD's, etc do.

You will be trained so don't worry!!! Have fun!! Be good to the customers and you will be fine!!!
Most likely you might be making the food in the beginning before they put you on register.
