I agree that it should be.

But the voters have to vote for the right candidates for this.

The last couple of years (and I don't mean just presidential elections) the people have been voting for candidates that are unconcerned about this issue.

Make a difference by voting for a candidate that finds the significance in raising the minimum wage.

Something has to give. Either lowering the cost of living or raising minimum wage but with that the price of goods will go up. Minimum wage is supposed to be the lowest amount someone could live on and that's not true at all $5.50 or 6.00 an hour is nothing at all if you work 40 hours a week that's still $240 a week and only $960 a month. That's nothing at all once you pay bills and for rent. If you have kids its even worse and people are always talking about taking away welfare if you do this there will be many more people on the street. But yes a change is needed.

I think the minimum wage should be raised. For a single parent earning min. wage and 1 kid even with 5 hours overtime, it would he downright impossible to live

Everything has increased rent, gas, utilities, groceries, and just about everything else. Everything that is except the minimum wage. Yes I think it should be increased because people who try to live on minimum wage just can't make it. It's not right.

If Congress needs to give themselves yet another pay increase, isn't it time for real people to have a pay increase?
