If you bought your computer within last year, you probably can increase it to even 1 gig.
Just go to http://www.newegg.com or http://www.4allmemory.com and you can get some RAMS for cheap. Just find the right DDR for your computer and you can install it yourself. Its the easiest part of your hardware that you can install.
I suggest upgrading to at least 1 gig of ram if you play a lot of games and if you want to play high graphics games. 512 is minimal for most games now.
If you need help with it, just contact me.

It's very possible and actually pretty easy. You should contact the manufacturer of your computer to find out what kind of ram that your computer uses, and then get the size that you want. After that, all you do is open the computer case, find the old stick of ram and take it out, and then put the new stick in. That's it. You shoud look and see how many available slots for ram there are, you may just be able to add in the new stick and not have to take out the other. To find out where the ram is, check your computer's owners manual, there's usually a section on ram in them.

You have 384 MB of RAM in your PC, that means that you have 256 and a 128 installed right? If you only have two slots for your RAM then you have to remove the 128, replace it with a 256 to make it 512 MB.

Yes, but it depends on the motherboard. Motherboards are designed to support a certain amount of memory. If you bought your computer in the last 3-4 years, it will likely support 512MB of RAM. However, the other important piece of info would be whether or not you have a free slot on the motherboard to take another stick of RAM.
If you have more info on your computer specs, that would make it easier to answer the question

its very simple,, Take ur computer to any computer store and he will do it in a minute.. even u can do it, its very easy. Putting the ram in the slots is not a big deal. only problem is the ram which u r buying should match ur mother board. so i think the best idea is to take the cpu to a computer shop.
tip: take it to a chinese or an asian guys shop,, he will do it for much cheaper.

First, take a look at your computer manual, or the manufacturer's website and look to see what is available.
If that fails, visit http://www.coastmemory.com and look it up there.
In some cases, you have to buy ALL new, so that your computer can be upgraded to the Maximum allowed.
You will find that 1GB of memory is about as good as it will get. If your computer has two slots for memory, and will accept 2GB, you might as well get one GB now, and leave the other slot for sometime later.

You can if your computer will support it. Some of the older machines are maxed out at 384 or 512. Without knowing your make and model, there is no way to tell how high you can increase it to.

Sure...take the RAM that you have out of your computer, and check to see what kind it is.
There should be at least one other channel that RAM can go in, buy another stick of the same kind of RAM...
An alternative is to remove the RAM completely, double or quadruple it's size and put it in only one channel, leaving the other open for future expansion. (more expensive, but worth it in the long run)

First you have to check the compatibility of the mother board, whether it supports higher capacity of RAM. According to that you can change your RAM to higher capacity - 1GB or 2 GB.
