I want to find a labtops with the hardware that would allow me to play Sims 2 without the computer freezin' up or running too slowly, and I could play the game for an extended amount of time smoothly.

I always recommend computers with AMD processors, because in my experience and my husband's experience, the Pentium processors run hotter. If you plan to run a laptop as a primary computer, or use it for extended periods of time where it's actually working (like rendering 3D images as opposed to office documents), the first thing I'd worry about is heat.

On the box of the game, you should find the minimum recommended specs. I personally recommend a gig of RAM and a 1.5gig or higher processor, but there's always a "sweet spot" in the computer market. Go there. For example, you may find that a computer with a 1.5 gig processor is a certain amount of money, 1.6 is $75 more, 1.7 is $200 more. There's no need to get more than you can afford if it's more than you need. ;)

I don't think that labtops can play computer games, but maybe laptops can.
