As long as it is made private (only viewed by the users friends) and is regularly monitored by an adult.
I teach 11/12 year old and lots of them have myspaces. Most of them use them appropriately, but some of them aren't monitored by responsible people and you can tell. Just make sure the kid doesn't have loser kids on their friends list.

NO parents should not allow their children to use myspace at that age. An 11 or 12 yr old does not understand the true dangers of giving out your real name, where you go to school, or even your address out to some strange person.
My 12 yr old is not allowed to use myspace, but there are several kids in his class that are. It is really scarey the information that the kids unknowingly put out there.

I don't think so. Have you seen the Primetime shows about the predators they grab off of that site? Kids are very impressionable at that age, as well as curious. Unless you are going to be there with them to monitor everything they do on it, which they probably wouldn't like, I wouldn't let them go on that site.

Even if the preteens are being careful as possible, there are still others out there who will try to manipulate and take advantage of them.

NO, you really need to wait untill you are older and know what kind of dangers you are exposing yourself to. PS you need to be 14 to have a myspace=)
