I think it was a number of things. Ukraine were so desperate to make a good comeback after their horrible loss to Spain. Also I think the weather conditions played a role. Ukraine was using the weather to their benefit. And also because Shevchnko was on the team.

They are not used to playing European teams. Since their whole team play in Saudi Arabian league. They played good against Tunisia because they are used to Middle Eastern ,and African soccer.
