If I had to choose I'd say The WB because Gilmore girls is my favorite show. I also watch 7th Heaven and Beauty and the Geek. Lol. But now that there isn't going to be a WB, I say the CW. Plus, CW is gonna have America's Next Top Model in addition to said shows, and I love that show.
I also watch the Food Network, the GSN, TLC, Discovery Health. Oh, and Disney/ Nickelodeon with my little sister . Those are the main ones probably

Sci-fi channel....for Battlestar Galactica! Ghost Hunters is pretty cool too, plus the show Mad, Mad House which seems to have run for only one season. Love their all-day marathons of Kolchak: the Night Stalker, original and 80s Battlestar Galactica, X-Files....DS 9.....even love the interstitials.
Now the dearly departed UPN....which gave us America's Next Top Model and VERONICA MARS....as well as launching with Voyager.

For Myself: Lifetime Television: Television for Women. It shows a lot of true life movies. Some of my favorites have included "Touched," (A man wakes up from a coma to discover his son died and he has no sense of touch. He falls in love with his nurse.) "For One Night" (A teen gets her school to have its first non-segregated prom.), and "For the Love of a Child" (Two women open a home for abused kids.). The stories are sad, but they all end on a good note.
For teens and preteens: Disney Channel: Shows and movies about real life situations
For young children: PBS: Public Television shows like Sesame Street and Barney that have some level of educational value.

Nickelodean. I probably should've outgrown kid shows by now...but I'm a sucker for cartoons.
Stuff like SpongeBob, the Fairly OddParents, and then of course the classic Nick like Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, etc. etc.
