The Mac might be more expensive. Both are good machines but you have to decide if you eventually will need the laptop in business which uses mostly Windows or are you going to be in Teaching which uses the Mac. Are you going to get into graphic design or publishing. Those fields use the Mac more often. There are more software applications for Windows & the ipod works on Windows also. Check out PC Connection since they also sell the Mac as well as the PC laptops. I myself use a PC tower, so I lean towards the PC laptop. Yet, many people love the Mac and since you love Music, the Mac is the one that started the ipod. It's a hard decision. I neglected the games...as others told you, it appears that Windows is better for games. I don't play games, so my evaluation is based on the business aspect & research usefulness of a computer.
----
If you don't need a laptop, then you can get a fantastic PC tower for under $1000, nearer $500 that would be great for games, music, & more. I just got the HP Pavillion recently. It is great except my HP hard drive died after 30 days and they repaired it for me. I should have bought the service contract but luckily it was under warranty. For a laptop, the service contract is extremely important.

Hi, window and mac both have each other pro and con. For window, you will get to use a wide range of software. For mac, the design and interface is good. However you are not alone. There are many who also face the same problem of could not deciding which OS to use. So here come the software which let you have window and mac at the same time. If you are not in the hurry to buy a computer, you can wait for a while for this to be in the market.

I am a Mac user all of my life (I'm 14). I would say "Go for Mac!" almost instantly, but you mentioned games. Games are tailored towards windows users, and many games WILL NOT work on Mac. Internet is pretty much the same on both, and Mac has iTunes, which is also available for windows. Mac is a lot more user friendly and compatible for graphic design programs, and higher end software.
Hope this helps!

Buy both if you can! But PC`s are real great for gaming. Kinda getting to the point where it really does not matter though. Go with the Mac and later buy a PC if your a real modern small gadget kind of person. If you don`t care about all that and wanna get your gaming on, go for a Dell.

Mac is nice, but im afraid a lot of popular software is just incompatible. So get windows but I'd wait until December when Windows Vista comes out b/c XP sucks.

Windows is more reliable. You can't play most games in Mac computers.
