Basically.. What everyone else has said, lol.

It doesn't actually "rip" or take the songs OFF of the cd (leaving the cd blank), it just copies the songs into a folder on your computer. So your cd will be just fine!

To answer your question ripping a song from a CD to your computer, it does not clear the song off the original CD. All the ripper function does is transfer the song or songs you select from a CD to your computer.

Only if the original burn was an open session with the software used to make the first few songs on the cd. Other than that, you need to have a cd read and write CD.

No it doesn't , your CD is write protect, means once recorded at the release company it won't be erraced or edited., as all use CD-R, which is recorded once only. And the ripper function is to copy the song you want from the CD to your computer by changing its format, format is the kind of the file, as in . CDA, . MP3, etc..

To rip means that your PC will convert the song or songs previously recorded in your CD to a format acceptable to your computer. It merely copies the songs from your CD to your PC. The songs in your CD remain intact. Happy ripping!

The ripper puts the song on your computer and leaves it on the cd.

No, your song will still be on the CD. Songs can't be taken off a CD anyway.

It copies the song. Your CD is perfectly safe, you CAN'T erase songs from CDs. You can only change CD-Rs.

It doesn't modify the CD, it only records the song on your computers memory.
