Tricks??

Just old fashioned highlighting as you read and concentration in a quiet setting.

Sorry - but tricks are for magicians, dogs and prostitutes!

You aren't going to college to learn tricks are you?

SNAP OUT OF IT!

Yes. The trick is to fool your brain into believing that this stuff is interesting and important. To do that you have to do two activities:
1. Feed your brain happy thoughts about these - or any such - studies. You can do this by studying with friends regularly in a good environment that really teaches you the stuff in a friendly way. Your brain will associate the study with friends, and a nice time.
2. Remind the brain that it is important by reviewing regularly. Don't cram for tests. The brain really hates this and will forget it as soon as it can. Keep a daily study diary at the end of the day, and read past parts of it every day. Like, read what you wrote last week and last month. This will trick the brain in to thinking that it is an important part of your life, and that you really want to remember stuff.

The brain is often like a little child. Tease it and have fun with it, and it will like playing whatever game you want to play. Train it and it will grow up to serve you well. Cram stuff into it and it will just throw up in your face!

Get to know your brain. What does it like when you study? Nice light? Soft classical music that won't make you listen too hard? Some goodies now and then, that are not too fattening? Flatter your brain. It works every time.
Have fun studying! Your brain will thank you.

1. Form a study group.

2. Do all of the homework, even if your prof doesn't grade it.

3. Do more probs then required, so that you know the information. Our prof even bought the answer book and put it in the library for us to check our work.

4. Don't cram, study a little bit every day.

Yes! Read the material. Get a study group together and brainstorm! There is always someone else who brings understanding in a group working toward the same end. An "A".

Ummmmmm... Go to class.......Study a little every night (about 30 min.)......Get on the Good side of the prof..............Possibly form a study group (people that are serious and can help each other).

And it doesn't hurt to ask questions when necessary even if it means going to the professor outside of class and have him/her help out if possible. (It really shows that you are committed to learning after you consistently went to class, paid attention, studied and still had some trouble.)
