Because, Apple controls the hardware (good or bad, you decide), Apple sets the prices and Apple makes iTunes. The reason the iPod is so successful is because no one has or will be able to copy the iTunes/iPod integration, that's what makes it work, that's why it is so good. It will be a hard formula to copy.

funny, I am pretty sure that Creative had their layout before the Ipod, and Creative is a mile ahead....nothing is as bad as the ipod I guess...????

"Creative" made a new mp3 player, it's called "Zen" and it's really better than ipod.
