I personally think that since you are a legal adult when you are 18 that you should also be allowed drink alcohol.

Yes, the only thing you are not allowed to do at the age of 18 is drink. You may join the armed forces, decide who is to be leader of the country, have sex with as many people as you want...but you can't have one beer. Tell me how much sense that makes.

People who are 21 cannot contain themselves when they drink, what makes you think an 18 year old is gonna have the brains to contain themselves. It will only mean more deaths on the highways. I remember when Wyoming's drinking age was 19 (1984) and all the states were already 21. The Government threatened to take away millions of dollars in road repair if Wyoming did not up the age. They did. I was a bartender at that time and it literally changed over night. And so did the DUIs and car accidents. I know a lot of underage kids drink, but making it legal is not going to solve anything. Good poll by the way.

I agree. At the age of 18 your allowed to vote, go into the military, etc. etc., but for some unknown reason your not allowed to drink. It's retarded, if the government is going to sit there and tell us we are adults at the age of 18 then they need to give us all the rights of being an adult.

No. I think 18 is a little too young. People are a little more mature when they are 21. Besides, if it was lowered, there would be alcohol users in high school, which could cause problems.

Teens drink anyway so you might as well lower the age to 18.

If you can sign up for the military and die in Iraq at age 18, you should be able to drink.

I think if you're old enough to be a soldier and serve our country, you should be allowed to drink.
