What are the cons to school uniforms? What dont u like about school uniforms?

Pros: Fashion victims are not hazed, Focus is on Studies not Accessories, Learning increases, Fights Decrease
Cons: May lead to loss of sense of self in some teens (usually those who are more prone to depression), Kids complain about it, School tuitions go up for the cost (or it's out of pocket for the parents)

They're not very flattering, I must say. I've been going to a private school for 10 years now and we have to wear red shirts with green plaid and a little tie and knee socks. I think the concept of them is good but they are just a pain. I got a detention because my socks were 2 inches under my knee which was too much of a gap. I don't like how they don't allow people to have their own style.

well, the pros about school uniforms is that everyone has to dress a certain way that is suitable according to school rules....and since there are so little choices, people don't judge you by how many clothes you have in your waredrobe....with no uniforms, you always have to worry what you have to wear the next day, and how many times have you used that t-shirt or jeans, etc....it can get pretty stressful....but i think people are generally more comfortable in their jeans and t-shirts, then school uniforms....

I had to wear a school uniform. I didn't like it but I didn't have to waste time in the mornings deciding what to wear. Also is everybody is the same and you can't stand out or express yourself throughout your clothes, but then again you never feel bad that you can't buy what someone else is wearing!

I just saw a debate about this in class the other day. The cons include the loss of individualism that the students feel because they cannot choose their own clothes. They are set to a "normal" cookie-cutter way of dressing that can deplenish their self-value.

omg ive been wearin school uniforms for da past 2 years...but theyve jus been cute cacky pants and polo shirts...but this year were goin plaid skirts.. an those lil black an white ugly shoes..!! its gonna be a nightmare..there soo expensive to..

i had to wear a school uniform for six years we wore blue plaid skirts and white polos it was so bad

school uniforms symbolizes responsibility and neatness. so, for me, it's not that bad.
