I take side. Only because my serve isn't wonderful, and I'm comfortable returning the ball.

I like to take the side, for a few reasons. First, I dont have a power serve (and I am a decent returner) so I won't get the easy opening Aces. Also the sun. On the serves check your toss, I dont like not being able to see the ball when I toss it up, so I will let them do it. Wind is kinda like the sun, try and have it to your back if you can.

Depends on how well I served in warm ups, how good of a service game my opponent has, and whether the sun will be a factor when serving.

Serve. The side doesn't really bother me. It's not like it really makes me a difference to me anymore if the sun is in my eye or not. My serve is prett good, so I rely on it a lot, though when it breaks down on me, I'm screwed.

I choose to serve because I have a pretty reliable and decent serve and I use it to take control of the match early and to intimidate my opponent.

Side. Two reasons - my serve is streaky and the server is usually most nervous at the begining of the match so make him/her serve first to test his nerve. Plus of course I have a strong reuturn game. :)

It's not such a big deal. Unless you have a good serve or you think your opponent warms up slow, you should return first.
