Each local authorities has its established property tax rate. Multiply the rate to the agreed price, or if you don't have an agreed price, then, the market price. That should give you a good estimate.

In the US, it is a matter of public record, and your Realtor can get that info for you. It is a very common thing to ask for, your Realtor will not be surprised or irritated at your request.
Also, make sure you have a reputable home inspector go over the house and property.
Good luck.

You can ask your real estate agent because it should be listed on the MLS or simply contact the county accessor where the home is located and they will give you the last years paid taxes and proposed taxes for the upcomming year.

The seller or the real estate agent should be able to tell you that. Most listings include the average tax cost. Ask your real estate agent or the seller.
