if that's the case, then you would not exist to answer the question.
think about it, women used to give birth to children as soon as they were physically able to, regardless of maturity. (btw, a girl can have a period as young as 8 years old and the youngest successful birth, at least that i know of, was with a 10 year old girl.) sex has never been about maturity, but ability. if people waited untill they were mature enough(by our current standards) then NO ONE WOULD EVER HAVE SEX. how can you assume that all teenagers, are not mature enough to have sex when they are mature enough to buy cigarettes, ponography, voting, joining the military and get married (18,19) so think about what you are saying before you say it. seriously consider what they "are mature enough" for according to society.

Because sex is soooooooo fun. It feels grrrrreattt. Who needs mature? Why should adults get to do all the fun stuff. Are adults that have extra-marital affairs, or are having sex with 2 or 3 or more women at the same time, or diddling their secretary mature? I think not. Maybe you are just pissed cuz your not getting any.

Unfortunately, our bodies tend to dictate and produce these fantastic hormonal endorphins and they can go haywire and out of control with a mature mind and prepared mind. Today's young people's bodies are definitely more developed than in my day. And the values that are taught dictated our control also. Not to say that people didn't experiment, but it was a more closed time. You didn't see naked bodies and open sex on regular t.v. shows. I think parents have a great deal to do with nuturing and preparing their children mentally for what is happening to their bodies. I have a 20 year old, and thank God she is still a virgin.

I hate to resort to this, but what do they see on t.v. and movies? what do they hear in music? sex. sex has become a very common thing. almost everyone of them hears of it before they reach middle school, though that's in sex ed. but most of them hear it outside of sex ed. they hear of adults doing it, and what do they think (though most likely subconsciously)? do the same, and you'll be more mature, like adults. and then, everyone around them is doing it, so they feel, "why can't i? they're all doing it and nothing's wrong with them." they know the facts, but a number of them choose to do something that feels good rather than be safe. besides that, their bodies are maturing much faster. girls are getting their periods at ages as early as 7 years old. they're ready to have sex, though it isn't the wisest idea.

That's because they're not mature.. and can't weigh pluses and minuses of having sex. And they also try to tread the unknown realm, which is presented to them as a forbidden fruit It could also be true that they want 'a feather' to boast about in their circle of friends as most films and romantic stories present lovers as heroes.

They are young and not real smart, but it wasn't too long ago when I was a teenager myself. They don't think things through before they do them, they just do it. Proof of that is when I stared drinking when I was a teen and now I have a problem because then, I wasn't thinking things through.
