Hydrocodone is an Opiate. Codeine is an Opiate. They are in the same family. It will not show positive for Codeine, but Hydrocodone will show positive as an Opiate. Opiates are: Raw Opium, Opium, Codeine, Morphine, Heroin, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Oxycodone (Percodan), Oxymorphone (Numorphan), Hydrocodone (Vicodin), Meperidine (Demerol), Fentanyl, Methadone (Dolophine), Darvon, Talwin.
If you have a prescription for it and are concerned about the chance for a postive result, then just bring your prescription with you. Usually, you are given the opportunity to declare any prescribed medications before testing. If you are without a prescription, then chances are your positive result for Opiates without medical reason will be cause for dismissal or grounds to not hire you. Either way, rest assured that Hydrocodone WILL MOST LIKELY cause a positive result for Opiates.
