back when Russia was becoming the Soviet Union, there was an election between Stalin and Trotsky. Stalin, as we all know, had the KGB chase Trotsky away. during the years of his reign, Stalin said that his men found documents that revealed how Trotsky was against the Soviet people all along and how he would try to ruin crops and sabatoge stuff. of course, those documents were doctored and intended to make the people fear Trotsky.

today, the Bush administration is saying that they found documents that show al Quida (and i believe Saddam) were planning to release cyanide into New York subway tunnels. is this an attempt to get the American people to start supporting the war again?

now there may be some credibility to the documents, i havent seen them (if they exist), so dont be all insulting to me when answering. its just a suggestion. if we Americans believe everything we hear this nation will be in serious trouble. so its best to always think a little and not be spoon fed.

I am always suspicious of all these supposed documents and their content being released to the public. The timing, in my opinion, is eyebrow raising for sure. Bush's numbers at their lowest, Bin Laden still nowhere to be found, all of the corruption in Bush's admin, etc. and "We The People" are told again that another terrorist plot was foiled by Bush the Great and his mighty men. Maybe it was, but then again...Trotsky's experience is a shining example of how corruption and propaganda work hand in hand.

Is GWB acting like Stalin? Maybe. We as common folk can't ever be certain anyone in any government is telling the truth about anything that's happening, not in Bush's regime, not in Stalin's, and certainly not in the next group of powermongers who will be running things here in the good ol' US of A.

Different issues at hand in different time periods, but I know what you're trying to say. I'm not a big fan of Bush for sure, but there are some fishy coincidences that I can see may connect them in a certain way, and it has been said that Russia might be even more powerful than the USA, another coincidence I think. Good question...

You're trying to draw a parallel between two systems and persons. This is a good way to learn. There are similarities and differences between the two, but there are also similarities and differences between any two people and eras...

Your last sentence is your best: don't believe all you're told, be sceptical, ask questions.

Certainly, ever since Nixon (and before), the Republicons have engaged in character assassination and have used propaganda (falsities) to get people to support them. Whether or not the alleged Al-Q threat to NYC is real is for investigators to determine, but given Bush's tendency to lie about anything and everything, one should be at least sceptical.

The Stalin-Trotsky election was not a general election rather it was from a small group of party loyalists. As mentioned Bush did not kill millions.

I think he is more like Adolf Hitler, the ones that support him really support him, enough to cheat two elections to get him into office.
