My dear friend, People may say that the universe was born with a big bang, It was existant in a different form, it was non existant and so on and on, But I would simply say this, If you didnt have enough information on anything, and even if you did have it, you could not comprehend it, and even if you could comprehend it could not contain it, or analyse it, then how can one be sure of a decisive conclusion.
Our minds and its capacity as compared to the information we may have recieved and are yet to recieve and comprehended, much less analyse is very very very miniscule, like a drop compared to an occean, We cannot at this point of time sit on judgement, when a simple question as to which came first, the chicken or the egg is as yet unsolved.

This cannot be so. We know that the universe itself has not always existed. Therefore, nothing could have existed, at least in this universe, until the event in which the universe formed (known as the Big Bang, due to a giant explosion, hence the name). However, some scientists believe that there are alternate universes, all in the 11th dimension. These scientists think that they have finally found a way to explain the Big Bang, and so we cannot disregard the theory of other universes (the theory states that two universes in the 11th dimension collided, and that the collision formed the universe; these theories also include the idea that each universe has something different about it ex: In one Napoleon could have won the Battle of Waterloo, in one, Great Britain could have squashed the revolt of the American colonists, in another, you would not exist).

Great question Sophie!
I really believe in certain types of evolution or devolution. There feels like an ebb and flow in the universe. Sometimes evil tries to get the upper hand, but we know good will always win! Freedom of choice allows for many possibilities, and if time is an illusion then, yes maybe everything always has been, but we just experience it differently, hmmmm!

Part of my understanding of things is that we were created in "his" image, hence that blueprint is a part of us and all other things which we are aware of also carries that same or similar blueprint.

He/She/It.... COMPARED to us, may indeed be both beginning and end thereby your question being relevant. But to have a correct answer to it, you'll need to go to the source and ask!

The blueprint being the same or similar in all things to me means that it doesn't matter if you're talking about a plant, an animal, a human being or a universe, each has a specific beginning and a specific end, the process of such things dictates that time is present.

God created everything from nothing. He spoke and everything began. The universe is still being created-expanding and expanding. Words have creative power and our sounds continue into the universe.

You're right, before there was Anything, there was Nothing.
Until enough Nothing gathered together and created Something. And then that Something made Other Things, that made More Things, and so on so forth.

I guess that would depend on whether you believe in God.
The Creator of the universe and all things that are.
The Alpha and Omega.
The "I Am".
I heard someone say once,
God starts and ends, then He begins.
That means we have purpose, IF you believe in God.
