I would avoid doing it, because if anything goes wrong, it's not sactioned by Ebay and so you lose their legal support! Don't risk it. Perhaps just try listing the item again and telling the individual that if he's interested in bidding on it, it can be found at such-and-such link. This way you have the protection of Ebay should something go wrong.

Go into your ebay "my ebay" page. If the message is showing in there it is legit. If it is not, report it to ebay immediately. It may be just one of many ebay type scams that are going around. Ebay has a page on their site that tells all about the different scams going around and what to watch out for. If there is any doubt in your mind just relist the item and tell them to bid on it.

His email should have come through ebay. If not, don't mess with it! Don't trust him. Just relist your items. If they want to buy it they can bid.

Don't give them personal information, follow the advice of the previous poster, relist the item, and tell them to bid.

There are always people trying to get your ebay and paypal information. Tell them you will relist the item but don't give them any personal info.

Don't trust anyone no matter how convincing they are, just relist it. If he is still interested in it he'll bid on it. Simple as that.

Something sounds wrong... I'd forget it all together, or list it as a buyitnow on ebay and have him buy it there
