That isn't even good grammar, is it?

Shouldn't it be "No standers" on the bus?

Stander would be the one standing, and a standee would be the floor.

Kinda funny.

Standees are folk not seated on the bus. Standing on a bus is something you have to do to get off.

Because standees are people who stand, and they don't want standing. Although in SF, you can stand, if there's no place to sit, jsut not at the white line.
