I have a baby rat, is it possible for her to squeeze out of her cage during the night tonite, because this is her first night here. The bars are about a few centimeters apart (regular size) but she is pretty small. She can fit her nose out, but could she get all the way out?

Rats at three weeks are just barely opening their eyes. They are not ready to leave their mommas until they are 5 weeks old. Even then they are still very small, and where their heads fit their bodies can follow. This is a picture of a 3 week old rat

Your new friend will be much happier with a friend, and 2 are just as easy to care for as one.

Three WEEKS old? In my opinion, that's too young to be away from her mother (and the reason she's so small. Rats don't hit puberty until week 6-8). Most should not be taken until it is a month--though two is ideal--old. Whoever sold you it was not responsible. (To digress, I would suggest taking her to a vet to get her spayed as well. Unspayed females are never something you'll want to deal with. Rats also should ALWAYS be in at least pairs. Go out and try to get a litter female. Rats should never be alone, they can get many mental-related problems from it.)
Pertaining to your question, if you're afraid then watch the cage at night when she'll be most active. Because it's new, though, she'll probably not be as rambunctious until she's older. The best thing to do is to let her be, get her bearings, and check on her as soon as you hear any sound in case she might be getting out. Rats are hardy, however, so it'd be rare for her to get hurt if she did get out.

I had a guinea pig cage all set up for my rats and within a few minutes of arriving home they squeezed through the bars, so I put them in a Hamster cage for about two months until they grew enough to fit in the Guinea pig cage. Hope this helps.

If you get her a friend get her one now. I notice how someone else said to get her a friend.
If you do get one while she's young a hand my rat a couple months before i decided to get her a friend and they didn't get along because the old one is too attached to me. Now i have 2 rats in 2 cages!

Rats are amazing. I recommend finding a big box that will hold the cage, just in case. If you don't have a box, try the bathtub.
If you lose her it will be very difficult to find her.

you would be surprised what they can do, my rat continuously found ways to unlock the cage or squeeze through the smallest places, I finally gave up and made her a nest under my bed, she would wander around a little at night but sleep in the nest.

Most rodents- - mice and rats- - have collapsible skeletons and as long as there head can fit through an opening, the rest of the skeleton will collapse to follow.

Most rats, no matter how big they are, can squeeze thru a hole the size of a quarter.

If she can get her head out she can get the rest of her out. I recommend taping some cardboard to the sides of her cage, but not the ceiling she does need to breath!

I don't think so. Cages are meant to hold all sizes and ages of animals.
