I do. There are a lot of fluff answers, but I think that is because of this 'game' system of getting points. However, serious questions usually get serious and interesting answers and comments that we can't get through wikipedia.
Don't give up on the site.

Sometimes it is helpful and other times it's just entertaining and it passes the time.
It's also nice to get to know what other people around the world think about except when some people post silly or mean answers or questions (BTW, yours is a good question).

this site has helped me a lot. I will ask my friends some questions, and they have no idea what I am talking about...but with you guys, there are so many of you that you are bound to know something about it!
Also, none of you know me so you can't go tell my friends when I ask questions about them.

I really enjoy it. It has been helpful to me in getting answers. Also, people have voted my answers best sometimes. Maybe I'm passing on some of who I am and what I know. I hope so.

It can be helpful if the answer is reliable but i use it as more of a passtime than an information source

it has helped on occasion, but not with any thing important. Only when I couldn't remember the name of some song and it was driving me crazy.

It is helpful because it allows you to get the opinion of other people and see their perspective.
